Some people are a bit nervous about signing up and coming to class for the first time and a bit worried about what to expect. They wonder about the type of people they are likely to meet and things that they may be asked to do. We understand this, and want to put your mind at rest and let you know that you will be working alongside people just like you, from all walks of life. We are always so pleased that people make great friends in classes and that the atmosphere is supportive and fun.
During enrolment times, we answer calls and queries that may be similar to ones you feel you might like to ask please see below...
Will I be too old?
NEVER! (This is usually asked by people in their 20's - we have students into their 60's and all ages are welcome from 4yrs)
Will I be able to do the dance?
Well we can't really assess your dancing until we see you in action, but you will learn at your own pace and that is fine.
Will I be too advanced for this class?
Are you a member of Diversity? or Robert De Niro? - no we didn't think so.
I have never done anything like this before will I be OK?
Well for some reason you want to do it, so maybe now is your time to make the leap - and enjoy it!
My child wants to be in "films" can you get her into a film she is 2?
I think you will find it's you that wants your child to be in a movie, why don't you try Adult Acting?
I am not a "Beginner" can I go straight into the Monday Actors Workshop?
You are just Beginning with us and as you move through the school you need to have the same reference points as fellow students and get to know how we work. This is not to disregard your previous experience. We have exercises and a process and like to make sure we have covered all the bases, to give you the best start with us. We have yet to find someone in a Beginners Class who should not have been there.
Can my friends come and watch or can I bring my Mum for support?
Certainly not your 32!
Some questions are what we term as "How long is a piece of string?" questions and we can't really tell you how you will feel until you join the class and have been there for a while.
It's also difficult to comment on what specific things you will be doing as every group is different. Or assess your skills over email or phone. We want the best for all our students and will do our best to direct you to a class that sounds suitable for you, and equally let you know if we don't think it is suited to your needs.
Please double check the timetable to make sure that you have got the right dates & times, and listen out for weekly announcements from the tutor as details may change.
See our top tips below which will highlight the following -
Please wear loose comfortable clothing, suitable footwear and clothing that does not restrict or hamper movement in any way.
Chewing Gum, Jewellery, Watches etc. should be removed for obvious reasons. We would advise you to bring along a plastic bottle of water and a towel, and warm clothing to put on after class in you are dancing.
The tutor will be doing their best to work on the variety of levels within the class, so don't feel nervous, as we have all had to start somewhere!
We have no upper age limit on Classes.
It is vital that if you come along to our classes that you have filled out a Registration Form, and that your class fees have been paid in advance.
We hope you have a really enjoyable experience at the Belfast Talent School Class or Event, you or your children choose to attend.
We cannot offer refunds unless classes have been cancelled by Belfast Talent. Please make sure you read the class terms and conditions.
